If you are a housewife or homemaker chances are that you are not living the extravagant lifestyle of the “Real Housewives” as depicted in the new television series, the Real Housewives of Vancouver (debuts on April 4, 2012). More than likely your family depends on you for tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, home repair etc. and therefore if you are injured in an accident your ability to provide those services for yourself and others is affected. In this column, I talk about ICBC benefits available for the loss of your ability to do household tasks and additional damages available (if someone else is at fault for your accident) for the loss of those services. 7. B.C. Announces PST Re-Implementation Date And Transitional Relief/Rules For New Housing
The B.C. Ministry of Finance has announced that the PST will be re-implemented effective April 1, 2013. The Ministry also announced the introduction of enhanced New Housing Rebate during the transition period (April 1, 2012 to April 1, 2013), the introduction of the B.C. Transition Tax and Transition Rebate, Builder Disclosure Requirements (and penalties for non-compliance) during the Transition Period, and a Grant for Purchasers of New Residential Housing Used as a Secondary or Recreational Residence during the transition period.
